Fascinating conversation with structural engineer friend over Abercromby Square history. Lots of ironwork obviously updated and replaced over the years, and WW2 claimed many original fittings, but the property above, on Oxford Street, apparently a bit of a time capsule. Balcony railings included, so this is how the Abercromby Balconies should look and how the rails would have been attached.

I have a week off work yey. And new computer coming Friday!
In case you didn't make the connection it means I'll be back to writing properly again! Not being lazy honest, my better half is moving in this week so I'm busy sorting my flat and non research stuff. Back soon. Despite the fact no-one has managed to find the artist for me!
So... one of Robert Preston's paintings has put into a pawn shop, and I can't find any decent details on picture or painter, though being mentioned I presume the artist must be well known to someone. Anyone heard of Otho Uneus?
For those of you sad enough to be upset you missed my talk for the Liverpool History Society, good news! I'm being re-scheduled! Details will follow...
