I promise I'll get back to some original stuff and photos soon!
And today a very interesting site with links to old maps of Lancashire.
I promise I'll get back to some original stuff and photos soon!

I've mentioned it before but the Liverpool Porcupine site is worth a regular visit and has some fascinating stuff!
While I'm offline, so to speak, I thought I'd point you to a few sites worth a look, starting with one containing photos of the square in the 1960s... and the infamous Senate House occupati0n!
Thought I'd give you a nice picture of the Library on the first floor between 22 and 24 Abercromby Square, knocked together circa 1921 when the University took over the terrace. Not too shabby is it!
I thought I should just expand a little to explain my lack of postings and that I'm not purely a lazy sod. I suffered a minor stroke on the 12th ( hence I couldn't do my talk) and am well on my way to a full recovery, but under orders to take it easy, and also as my vision was affected, reading and writing and screens something to be limited in time for now.
Do keep coming back though, I haven't forgotten about you, promise. If you need something to keep you going why not Iplayer Nick Broomfield's Going Going Gone fram last week. A bit over dramatic but some lovely footage of the Wellington rooms, and a bit of archive footage of Chatham street being demolished in the 60s viewed from the corner of the square. |
