Well one of the basic reasons is simply that it is difficult to work on the latter stages of researching a book when you have a full time job. The initial research has many areas which can be researched in chunks, or in 'spare time', but once you get to the stage of having most of the material you intend to use it gets trickier. You need a proper block of time to write up even the first draft (first few chapters done though!), and those little bits you know you still need can mean reading an extra book in its entirety just for the snippet you need ( or not finding it as the case sometimes is). Even writing short blogs also puts me on the internet, with its many distractions, so I try to avoid that for some periods.
Its also difficult to find additional bite-sized gobbets suitable for the blog without giving away the contents of the book or replicating them, particularly now we're nearly a year into posting. I'll carry on, and still have some great photos and stories to share, along with the process of writing, but its time consuming when I really should be trying to write the ruddy book ( as has been pointed out to me). Next post will explain some other projects which have been taking some of my attention, which hopefully will also be of interest. If the timer works, you'll be reading this tomorrow and blogs will become a little more regular again soon :-)
Nope, the shitty software still won't let me schedule ( another reason for the lack of posts). Sort it out Weebly!
