Stubbs provided some of the decoration and design for 19 Abercromby Square for the 'Southern Club'.
The picture also highlights some of the high profile artworld figures visiting Liverpool at the time. Sadly, few records exist of who may have dined in the actual Square itself, though given the fact we know figures like Whistler and Audabon definitely knew and socialised with some of the occupants, it is likely we have had far more 'famous' visitors than we will ever know.
