As it seems quite wet n cold outside at the minute, I thought you might enjoy a photo of the Victoria Building at the University, which I took a few years back. No image manipulation, just a lovely genuine rainbow!

I'll carry on posting the photos I have for a while, but for those of you on facebook, if you haven't already, why not join the Liverpool History Society page, and the Liverpool New & Old Pictures group. They're both fantasic sites with lots of information on the history of the City!
For the New Year, an old photograph of the Anglican Cathedral being built (just to balance the one below), and the 'Lost Boys Garden' before it's gentrification.
And today's photo I'm using for research is Crown Street 1964, showing how much has changed, the Cathedral in tha background and the goods yard as the last remnant of the Liverpool terminus of the Liverpool-Manchester railway, just outside the city boundaries of Corporation land (where it had to end by law).
It's been a while since I've posted I know and I've been working on various different things, but currently writing a story. Not sure what it might turn into but as part of it is set in Liverpool's past I thought I might include a few photos I'm using for reference for your delectation. This one is Hope Street 1965 (according to the caption and the status of the Catholic Cathedral looks about right for that). I'll post a few more photos I'm using over coming weeks as they may be of interest.
Apologies for the long delay between posts but why not distract yourself with the Sisters of Mersey website and app to learn all about the contribution and influence of women on Merseyside!
